SCHOLASTIC STANDING
The University calculates grades based on the following scale:

B | 3 points |
C | 2 points |
D | 1 points |
F | 0 points |
WF | 0 points (For students who did not officially withdraw from class, but ceased attending and failed to complete requirements for the course.) |
P | Pass. (Used only in Pass/Fail system.) |
PR | Work in Progress |
W | Authorized withdrawal |
INC | Incomplete |
AU | Audit |
In addition to A, B, C, D, and F, the following are the allowable plus/minus grades with their grade points per hour: A- (3.667), B+ (3.333), B- (2.667), C+ (2.333), C- (1.667), and D+ (1.333).
The University calculates Academic Standing based on the following scale:
Academic Standing Scale
Academic Standing | Meaning |
---|---|
Good Standing | A grade point average of 2.0 to 4.0 |
Scholastic Probation | A grade point average of 1.9 to 0 |
Scholastic Suspension | 2 consecutive semesters where the term grade point average is below a 2.0 |
Units of Credit and Class Standing
The University requires students to earn at least 120 credit hours of acceptable credit in order to receive a baccalaureate degree. For academic classification purposes:
- A freshman is a student who has completed fewer than 26 credit hours.
- A sophomore is a student who has completed between 26 and 55 credit hours.
- A junior is a student who has completed between 56 through 85 credit hours.
- A senior is a student who has completed 86 credits or more.
